However, there is a serious shortage of textile data in the global LCA database. The existing data are incomplete and out of system, and the data quality and credibility are low.

 

As the world's largest textile producer and the most important textile consumer in the future, China's textile and garment industry urgently needs to establish suitable LCA analysis and evaluation tools, localized database and information disclosure system.

The application of life cycle assessment in textile industry can improve the environmental protection performance of textiles and enhance the competitiveness of textile enterprises.

China's Sustainable Textile "life cycle assessment LCA" project launched

The social responsibility Promotion Committee of China Textile Industry Federation plans to prepare a working group on the life cycle assessment of China's textile and garment industry (hereinafter referred to as cntac-lca Working Group), so as to give full play to the collaborative organization ability of industry organizations, and guide the industry to carry out the whole life cycle assessment of textile products and the disclosure of product environmental information, Establish the life cycle assessment system and environmental footprint database of textile products; We should integrate the forces of all parties in the supply chain, accelerate the establishment of a product environmental information disclosure system from the end brand end to the raw material end with the source of the whole chain available, the destination can be traced, and the results can be known. We should support the branding of responsible production of enterprises and establish effective links with consumption, and support consumers to identify and guide green products and green consumption, To improve the ability of enterprises to deal with green trade barriers in the international market and international competitiveness, and to provide China's industrial solutions for global fashion industry emission reduction goals.
